Single and Multiple Dental Implants - Chesapeake, VA

Failing or Missing Teeth?

Dental Bridges and Dentures Aren’t Your Only Options

We know how taxing losing one or more teeth can be on your health, your ability to eat, and your overall self-confidence. That’s why we offer comprehensive restorative dentistry to find the solution that truly meets your needs by restoring your oral health and aesthetics. You may be thinking that dental bridges and partial dentures are the only options out there but that’s just not true anymore. Now, with cutting-edge training and modern technology, our experienced team also offers reliable and long-term dental implants in Chesapeake and Virginia Beach, VA.

Dental implants are comprised of three parts: the titanium tooth “root,” the abutment (connector), and a custom dental crown or bridge. Implants won’t alter or harm healthy, natural teeth like dental bridges do nor are they removable and uncomfortable like partial dentures. Though we offer both these options, we find that dental implants are often the most ideal solution for many of our patients looking for a solution that lasts. Dental implants replace your entire tooth—from the visible crown to the root—and will provide permanent function and natural-looking aesthetics. Our implant dentists are here to provide experienced and personalized treatment to restore your health, confidence, and quality of life! Find out why we so often recommend dental implants to our patients.

The Proven Advantages of Dental Implants

Our goal is to have a dental implant look, feel, and function so naturally, it will be as if you never lost a tooth in the first place! Dental implants take the place and the responsibility of a natural tooth. With an implant post placed directly into the jawbone, each implant is able to inspire healthy bone growth and offer the oral function you need to eat and speak with confidence. With a natural-looking crown or bridge made just for you, we can give you a beautiful and seamless smile in just one day.

Our implant dentist, Dr. Ryan Boylan, has completed advanced training in dental implants during a prestigious implant residency program and is an active member of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. He, our team, and our facility, are well-equipped to both place and restore your dental implants at RB Comprehensive Dentistry. With a success rate of over 98%, dental implants are the proven, long-term solution doctors and patients prefer. We invite you to read through the general process for receiving a dental implant and then contact our office to schedule a consultation and find out if implants are the right solution for you.

Phase 1: Personalized Consultation & Planning

Phase 1: Personalized Consultation & Planning

Your first appointment is an in-depth consultation where we will talk about your smile goals and expectations for your treatment. We offer honest care. If another solution is better for your specific needs, we’ll help you make that solution a reality. However, if dental implants are your tooth replacement treatment of choice, we’ll take 3D scans of your mouth with our in-house CBCT technology. These scans are high resolution and will help us plan your surgical guide and overall treatment plan. We design and print all our surgical guides in-house with our 3D printer to ensure high-quality results. Our digital smile design technology also enables us to virtually create your final smile so you can see what you’ll look like before treatment begins! We only use the highest-quality materials for your treatment, including dental implants from BioHorizons® and Nobel Biocare™, leading implant manufacturers. Once your personalized treatment plan is designed, we’ll schedule your surgery.

Phase 2: Complete Smile in One Day

When you return to our office, we’ll welcome you to your private room. Most patients don’t need assistance feeling calm and relaxed for surgery, though we do provide nitrous oxide and anti-anxiety medication if needed. If you need bone grafting or tooth extractions prior to receiving your dental implants, we are frequently able to group all of these treatments into one visit, saving you time. Using our custom-made surgical guide, we’ll precisely place each dental implant post at the exact angle and depth for long-term reliability and restored function. To aid in the healing process, we use growth factors from your own body to offer faster healing times. What surprises most patients is the next step. In many cases, we’re also able to attach a provisional of teeth, a crown or bridge, so you can leave our office with a complete smile in just one day!

Phase 3: Final, Long-Lasting Restoration

Phase 3: Final, Long-Lasting Restoration

Over the next few months of healing, the dental implant posts and your natural bone will fuse together in a process called osseointegration. This is how dental implants provide such long-term stability and function. Once this healing phase is complete, you’ll return to our office to receive your final, custom-designed and custom-fitted crown or bridge. This final restoration will not only function like real teeth, providing you with long-term health benefits, but it will also look and feel just like beautiful, healthy teeth as well. We’ll ensure this dental crown or bridge looks flawless alongside your existing teeth, then secure it to your dental implants. You’ll be able to enjoy a complete, functional smile once again and feel a boost in your confidence and quality of life for decades to come.

An Affordable, Long-Term Option

If you’re looking for the most long-term and functional replacement for your missing teeth, then choose dental implants. Though often seen as an expensive alternative to bridges and partial dentures, dental implants are the only permanent option that won’t need pricey and inconvenient replacement or relining. Over the same number of years, dental implants become the more affordable solution! If you’re concerned about the cost of dental implants, we encourage you to contact our office. We provide many financing and payment options, along with accepting most dental PPO insurances and TRICARE. We’ll help you afford dental implants and help you improve your long-term confidence and quality of life!
